Intended Learning Outcomes

By the end of the module you will be able to,

  1. 1.Appraise the potential contribution to health improvement of different agencies and also the potential for conflict in cross-agency working;

  2. 2.Analyse the theoretical bases supporting community participation in improving health, and select and apply appropriate evidence-based methods for involving communities;

  3. 3.Interpret and critically apply current evidence on community development and organisational development for health;

  4. 4.Critically appraise different models of leadership and team building and apply them appropriately in different contexts, respecting cultural diversity.

  5. 5.Select, apply and synthesise the principles of effective, evidence-based change management.

During this module you will explore a range of issues and competencies, including: organisational development; collaborative and cross-agency working; working with communities; socio-cultural diversity; power relationships in health; strategic leadership for health; team building; change management; communication.
