So far Threevoices films have explored social and cultural issues. Mostly they are developed after I’ve been travelling around and have gathered a few hours of material, Then I try to make some of it fit a narrative idea.  The exception so far is Scratching the surface, which follows a standard documentary  procedure and is based on interviews with graffiti artists at street arts festival in Manchester. That’s the only film where I knew what I wanted to film before I went out with the camera. As a result editing was much faster and I got to play round a bit more and use a few special effects to give a bit more of a visual buzz to the film.
