This site is the starting point for most of my work and interests around digital media, music, international and community health. The site reflects the diverse interests and activities that take up a lot of my time these days. It's really an extension of my professional life as an academic and it’s illustrative of some aspects of my emotional life too.

I work as a Principal Lecturer in Public Health at the University of Cumbria in Lancaster. I have been using video and photography for teaching and research since 2002.  That’s when I discovered what iMovie could do at one of the annual UK Apple Teacher Institutes. Since then I have been using digital video and photography in my work because I like being able to construct stories visually. I like the whole challenge of using sound, images and narrative to get a message across.
